Description
The Development Director of Creede Repertory Theatre is responsible for major gift fundraising, current and prospective donor cultivation, and development and implementation of a strategic fundraising plan.
JOB DUTIES
Development Plan, Major Gifts and Donor Cultivation:
Implement and develop a comprehensive and measurable development plan that includes specific fundraising goals and a cultivation plan for current and potential donors.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors, both personally and with the assistance of CRT’s Board of Trustees, Executive Director, and staff.
Ensure proper stewardship for all major CRT donors including correspondence, outcomes, and reports.
Communicate with diverse audiences with integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity.
Maintain giving and communication records for all donors and donor prospects.
PR and Communication:
Develop and maintain marketing tools and support materials that reinforce the message of giving.
Coordinate mailing lists for direct mail appeals, newsletters and special event invitations.
Engage with local, regional, and national government and arts organizations on behalf of CRT.
Grant Writing:
Identify potential grant opportunities and write grants, ensuring timely submission and reporting.
Special Events:
Lead the planning and execution of fundraising special events including logistics, volunteer recruitment, and marketing.
Endowment Campaign:
Manage, coordinate, and implement efforts of CRT’s Development Committee, Executive Director, and staff to support a $2 million endowment campaign.
Creede Repertory Theatre Team Member:
Serve as a member of the administrative team, which includes: Executive Director, Artistic Director, Managing Director, Education Director, Business Manager, Production Manager, Facilities Manager, Public Relations Manager, and Development Associate.
Lead and manage the Development Office at CRT, which includes working collaboratively with the Development Associate.
Attend required meetings, including all staff and assigned committee meetings.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 3 years experience in fundraising and development
Documented record of fundraising success, including outright, major, and deferred gifts
Skill in problem-solving, prioritizing, working independently, adhering to deadlines, paying attention to detail, and maintaining confidentiality
Able to simultaneously address the overarching development goals of the organization, while attending to the day-to-day details related to implementation of projects
Able to develop and implement systems and manage multiple projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to adapt communications towards appropriate audiences
Knowledge of and experience using office technology (software, Mac computers, printers), including proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience fundraising for arts organizations
Experience with E-Tapestry/Blackbaud fundraising software
