Description
The Community Kitchen is a 501(c) 3 organization in Loveland, Colorado that provides prepared meals 7 days per week to those in need of a nutritious meal. We do not ask any questions of our patrons...if someone comes to the Community Kitchen, they are eligible to dine with us.
In 2014, we celebrated 18 years providing a hot meal to anyone in need, regardless of ability to pay. However, the Community Kitchen provides more than a meal. Our mission is "Food for those who are hungry, Conversation for those who are lonely, Rest for those who are weary".
Our program is run almost entirely by volunteers. We rely on over 300 generous volunteers to serve meals to our patrons. Through our collaboration with Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud, we are able to further maximize donations. From sharing a building, to purchasing meals at cost, this collaboration allows us to keep overhead costs low, and provide meals that are prepared by an experienced culinary staff and overseen by a registered dietitian.
