Make-A-Wish Colorado grants the wishes of Colorado children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Position Summary:
Performs fundraising duties to support the development efforts of the Colorado chapter for Make-A-Wish. The development officer’s responsibilities are to develop and implement all components of an annual giving program. The annual giving program consist of a small monthly giving program, annual donors of $2,500 and below and working with local donors that donate through a national direct mail program.
Summary of Duties:
• Develop and implement an individual annual giving plan and execute throughout the fiscal year (September – August) within National compliance guidelines
• Develop and implement a stewardship plan and calendar
• Cultivate, solicit and sustain relationships with donors – knowledge of giving trends with multi-generations
• Provide organization awareness to donors about Make-A-Wish services and financial needs
• Develop and implement a plan for potential legacy donors
• Evaluate annually and make recommendations for future growth
• Responsible for individual giving budget of $250,000 which consists of donors at $2,500 and below
• Implement annual giving society
• Build pipeline for major donors

Job Requirements
Qualifications/Skills:
• Proven ability in annual giving fundraising
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Raiser’s Edge
• Must be organized and flexible with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be self-motivated, work independently and as part of a team, organized, detailed orientated, maintain confidentiality and be comfortable communicating with many different audiences.
• Available to work some evenings and/or weekends as needed.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years minimum experience in annual giving fundraising.
Compensation: $45,000 – $50,000
Application and Interview Process:
All applicants must be able to attend an organizational orientation meeting on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00am at Make-A-Wish Colorado. This orientation will include a tour of the chapter and learning about MAWCO history as well as details of annual giving program and positions expectations. Interview sign-ups will be available at the end of this orientation and interviews will be held the week of October 28. Applicants will be requested to bring their annual giving plan to the interview.
