Description

The Development Director (DD) job is a key position for Boulder County CareConnect (BCCC). As the Director, you will manage the fundraising program. You will also work directly with our executive team including the Executive Director, Program/Volunteer Managers, the Communications Director, and a Board member team helping to grow our organization. Your major task is donor development, including fundraising, grants acquisition, planned giving campaigns, and events management.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage an annual funding program with our staff’s help

 

  • Work with our team to define strategies, actions and goals with managed outcomes for growing our organization

 

  • Enhance and grow funding resources through existing and new opportunities

 

  • Grow BCCC’s grant research, proposal, and reporting to better focus on local government, business and all manner of foundations

 

  • Grow corporate, foundation, and individual donors and sponsor relationships

 

  • Implement and optimize in-house donor data management system for tracking donations, donor acknowledgements, and return on investment

 

  • Help us grow a fundraising culture among staff, board members, volunteers, and interns

 

  • Represent BCCC by promoting our mission via media appearances, public speaking engagements and community gatherings and events

 

  • Develop, build and manage a board/volunteer fundraising team and strategize for increasing membership for helping with special events and funding campaigns

 

  • Supervise development staff, volunteers, and interns

 

  • Act in other capacities as assigned by the executive director

Job Requirements

Organized, analytical and very flexible with a high degree of initiative

Possesses at least three years-plus experience with successful nonprofit fundraising programs. Previous development director experience is ideal

Proven record generating $300,000-plus annual revenue in major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grants

Ability to prospect, cultivate, and manage long-term corporate and individual donor relationships that may include a wide range of stakeholders and cultures

Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking and grant writing experience

Proficiency using database programs such as Donor Perfect, Razor’s Edge, Neon

Success working with a volunteer board of directors. Experience building and managing employee and volunteers teams

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience. Health and Human service experience is a plus
