Mission
Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley (HFHSVV) is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). HFHSVV is headquartered in Longmont and serves part of Northern Colorado equal to that of the St. Vrain Valley School District. At its foundation Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry. While we don’t require that our employees, Volunteers or homeowners share in our faith in Jesus Christ, we base our work on Christian principles. HFHSVV builds affordable housing for those in need.
Desired qualifications include: excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication and ability to be a strong advocate and spokesperson for Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley. The candidate must possess a solid track record of success in development, be a strategic thinker with excellent analytic abilities and judgment, and have a background in creating appropriate measurements and metrics to ensure productivity. Particular strengths should be the ability to grown individual and corporate “charitable investment” in reaching HFHSVV’s aggressive 3 year homebuilding goals through 2015.
This position requires at least 5-8 years of progressive experience in fundraising, including activities such as major, annual gift campaigns, planned giving, foundation and corporate relations. Background in public relations and marketing is a plus. Must have experience working with donor management software.
This position is responsible for:
• Implementing the development plan to reach annual philanthropic revenue goals for HFHSVV
• Planning and directing the annual fund, major gift and planned giving efforts, as well as corporate funding, donor stewardship and supporting grant writing efforts by HFHSVV staff.
• Working with the Volunteer Coordinator to enhance the community and public relations development plan through volunteer efforts that assures that HFHSVV and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong positive, accurate image to relevant shareholders.
• Creating and maintaining active corporate/ major donor portfolio of 25 individuals/corporations
• Working with key volunteers as well as the Board of HFHSVV to achieve revenue goals through cultivation and stewardship of current donors as well as expanding the donor prospect pool
• Interfacing with HFHSVV staff to better understand its programs, culture, diversities and perspective
• Supervising with HFHSVV full-time and contract staff special fundraising events
This position is the full time staff position for Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley. This individual needs to embrace a progressive perspective on life and have a very entrepreneurial spirit in order to build economic capacity for the future of HFHSVV.
