The Boulder Chorale, of Boulder Colorado, seeks an Executive Director to begin July 15, 2015.
The Chorale is Boulder’s oldest and largest community choral organization. Chorale members are drawn together by a shared love of singing and a mission to enrich and inspire a broad community through music. Core values – musical excellence, education, community, collaboration, solidarity and vitality – guide all the Chorale’s programming and activities.
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the overall management and financial development of the Boulder Chorale organization. This leadership position develops, implements, and monitors strategies that achieve the organization’s financial objectives, strategic mission, and long-range plans in collaboration with the Artistic Director, the Children’s Chorale Artistic Director, the Board of Directors, as well as individual members of its Executive Committee.
The ED reports to the Board of Directors and collaborates with various committee chairs in carrying out the following:
• Developing strategies for cultivating, securing, and sustaining a strong, diversified, and vibrant means for raising funds for the organization.
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to increase and diversify audiences in attendance at Boulder Chorale and Boulder Children’s Chorale concerts and events, and increase membership in all choirs.
• Serving as the advocate and ambassador for the Chorale.
• Managing financial operations in accordance with approved budget and governmental regulations.
• Assuming a leadership role in defining and achieving the short and long term goals of the Chorale.
• Supervising and monitoring performance of administrative staff.

Job Requirements
• Significant background in and knowledge of development and fundraising with at least 5 years’ experience, preferable in arts related organization
• Strategic advertising and promotional development experience
• Leadership experience in organization/program management
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database
• Experience using social media for marketing and community building a plus
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changes
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in supervision employees and effectively collaborating with volunteers
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Non-Profit Management, Business Management, Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience.
