The Executive Director administers all Board adopted policies and is responsible for enabling the Board of Directors to fulfill their governance function. Has the authority and responsibility to carry out all of the Agency’s programs and services within the context of written policies.

Responsible for the Agency's achievement of its stated mission and the financial objectives to achieve that mission, and is ultimately responsible for the success or failure of the Agency. Directs and oversees fund raising. Maintains a good working relationship with funding sources. Works cooperatively with educators, and others involved in the community. Work is performed with the guidance and consultation of the Executive Committee of the Board. Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of all Agency programs that serve the Denver Metropolitan area. Annual Agency revenue is approximately $1.7 million.

Responsibilities:
A. Works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure that the Agency has a long range strategy to achieve its mission and that consistent and timely progress is made toward attainment of those goals. Maintain the Agency's fiscal integrity through oversight of the budget preparation and audits, monitoring, and reporting the Agency's finances.
B. Hire, supervise, direct and evaluate staff.
C. Responsible for overseeing the Agency's programs and services.
D. Oversee and participate in development of new funding sources. Maintain productive liaison with funding sources.
E. Provide information to the Board regarding current and future community service needs. Recommend programs and policies to the Board of Directors.
F. Represent the Agency at appropriate professional and community conferences and meetings.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
A. Education: A degree in management, non-profit administration, etc.
B. Experience: Administrative oversight, fundraising, fiscal management and program development. Provide effective leadership skills and demonstrated abilities to manage a non-profit, education service-oriented organization. Possess creativity, initiative and independent judgment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the staff, the Board of Directors, funders, regulatory bodies, vendors and the general public. Public relations experience with the ability to engage in public speaking, helpful.
C. Other: Experience with the development and delivery of educational opportunities in adult education, family literacy, GED preparation and testing and workforce training and development programs. The ability to participate in fund raising activities including but not limited to individual solicitation, corporate gift solicitations, grant applications, and various fundraising campaigns. Ability to work varied hours. Computer literate.
