Spring Break Roundup: A Little Beach Reading

Your friends at Front Range Source are enjoying spring break and catching up on some fundraising reading. Here are some interesting articles for your enjoyment:

    Young People These Days

Penelope Burk talks about retaining young fundraisers. It’s an important topic. According to her research, the average under-30 fundraiser stayed in their last position only 16 months. One of her tips…managers must stop insisting that younger fundraisers “act and think like I did at your age.” We couldn’t agree more!

    The Top 100 NGO’s

The Global Journal has issued its first-ever ranking of the world’s best NGO’s, as evidenced by a range of criteria including innovation, effectiveness, impact and transparency. Our own Leslie Allen is on the board of the USA branch of #45, Action Aid!

    Naked Ambition

Who but the English would think to raise money by playing miniature golf…in the nude? A group of 30 brave souls stripped down and set a world record for the number of people to play miniature golf at once and raised 3,000 pounds for The Prostate Cancer Charity. Innovative, but we’re confident it could easily be beat…Gateway Park, anyone?

    And for your VIEWING PLEASURE…

No Front Range Source roundup would be complete without a video. Here’s one we just love from our client Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, Inc. What a clear and compelling call to action: START SOMETHING BIG!
